2012 – 2013 SCHOOL YEAR
Cape Romain Environmental Education Charter School’s mission is to create a small and diverse collaborative learning community that immerses students in critical thinking, environmental stewardship, and engaged citizenship through meaningful and innovative learning experiences. CREECS engages family and community in the commitment to nurture the whole child in preparation for a global society by emphasizing ecological conservation and sustainability.
Admissions Requirements
CREECS will admit all children eligible to attend any South Carolina public school subject to space limitations and based on grade levels served. CREECS will will serve grades K5, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 for the 2012-2013 school year. Students enrolling for K5 must be five years old on or before September 1st, 2012.
Application Process
- CREECS has a simple one page application. There is no test required for admission.
- Students requesting entrance into CREECS must submit a fully completed application.
- Please print clearly. Any incomplete applications will be returned.
- Confirmation of receipt of application will be provided by email. Please ensure the email address(es) you provide is current and legible on the application. Applicants who cannot provide an email address can request confirmation by postal mail. Applicants who do not receive a confirmation of receipt within 10 days of mailing their applications, should contact CREECS.
- Applications will be accepted from October 1, 2011 through 4:30pm on January 9, 2012.
- Applications received after the deadline will be considered on a space available basis.
- A random public lottery (should the school receive more applications than available student slots) is scheduled for Tuesday, January 17, 2012.

Enrollment Process
CREECS will send a “Student Enrollment Package” by US Mail to each student who is accepted for enrollment. Families must complete and return the “Student Enrollment Package” within 14 business days after receipt. Students who do not return their enrollment packages within the designated period will be withdrawn from the accepted enrollment list and they must re-apply if they wish to attend. Every effort will be made to reach each student. Students will be required to provide proof of South Carolina residency and immunization records in the enrollment package. It is the applicant’s responsibility to inform CREECS if his/her contact information has changed.
